As a Professional Wedding DJ, you would provide DJ, emcee, lighting and other event-related services to a variety of clients in the Greater Toronto Area and beyond. Don’t have wedding DJ experience? No problem! You can also apply to join our team as an assistant wedding DJ and learn from some of the best in the business!
Our business focuses primarily on weddings and corporate events, which means we’re are looking for people who enjoy building relationships with clients as much as they love mixing music. You will need to be comfortable with:
- Communicating regularly with clients leading up to their events
- Emceeing events with hundreds of people
- Working mostly on weekends
- Scheduling events 1-2 years in advance
- Doing your own setup and tear down
Expected Career Path
Assistant DJ > Primary DJ > Business Manager
Assistant DJ – Support the primary DJ at scheduled events. Help set up equipment, take requests, occasionally mix music. Work towards becoming a Primary DJ by learning core competencies.
Primary DJ – Provide exceptional DJ & MC services to clients. Deliver five-star customer service. Communicate regularly with clients leading up to and after events. Support the development of the Assistant DJs.
Business Manager – Manage Primary DJs and oversee the success of each event. Assist in the generation of leads and closing sales. Manage and maintain equipment.
Employment Opportunities & Responsibilities
Client Management
- Communicate punctually and professionally with clients
- Conduct a DJ event planning meeting with clients
- Build lifelong relationships with clients
Event Management
- Set up sound & lighting equipment
- Provide DJ/Emcee services throughout the event
- Take photos & videos for social media
- Coordinate with other event vendors
Lead Generation & Sales
- Actively monitor lead channels
- Respond to leads quickly
- Register leads for a consultation
- Conduct consultation and help clients pick the right package
- Manage lead progress in Sales Pipeline
What you bring to the table:
- A passion for music and knowledge of different genres
- Experience DJing weddings is preferred but not required
- Ability to drive to and from events with own vehicle
- Ability to lift heavy equipment long distances
- Organizational skills to book events far in advance
- Native-level fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Confidence with speaking in public and private settings
- Familiarity with live DJ software such as Serato or Traktor
